For years, electricity, natural gas and heating oil costs were low enough that we didn’t have to worry about our monthly utility bills. However, today’s growing demand for energy has caused electricity and fuel prices to skyrocket -- and this is just the beginning. Because heating and cooling account for almost half of your household energy budget, it’s critical for your heating system to work as efficiently as possible.
The older your furnace equipment is, the lower it’s efficiency. Today's heater and furnace equipment is much better at converting fuel or electricity into heat for your home.
Equipment as little as 12 years old is now considered antique compared to new state-of-the-art furnaces and heaters. Sure it’s an investment, but if you are going to pay for it whether you get it or not, you may as well get it!
Today's new furnaces and heating systems are more energy efficient than ever, so there is no reason to put up with an old system. If you have an old heating system, or you notice your system is not working properly, one of our skilled HVAC technicians can help you with all of your heating needs. Running a broken heater can cause even more problems for your HVAC system. Schedule your Furnace Maintenance or Repair today.
Dr. Energy Saver says…
Upgrading to super-efficient HVAC
equipment can cut heating and cooling
costs by up to 50%.
(Depending on what you started with)
To get the most from a new HVAC system,
it’s important to make other energy-efficient
improvements like air sealing, duct sealing
and additional insulation first, or at the same
time. This way the new HVAC system can be
smaller than the old one.
You should also be sure that your heating system is saving money rather than losing it. According to the United States Department of Energy, over 20% of heating and cooling losses come from leaking ducts, so checking for air duct leaks is important. You may also want to insulate the ducts so they are not affected by outside temperatures).
