Climate Partner's Energy Services

Energy savings are money in the bank!Climate Partners provides extensive Climate Energy Services (CES), as well as exclusive energy-efficiency enhancement and conservation measures for Connecticut homeowners through our CES Home Energy Tune-Up. Our relationship with local utilities and our participation in a program known as Home Energy Solutions (HES), which is sponsored by the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund, we can offer certain low or no cost energy services and solutions to customers of Connecticut Light and Power (CL&P) and the United Illuminating Company (UI). Funding for the HES program is provided by CL&P, UI, Connecticut Natural Gas, Southern Connecticut Gas, and Yankee Gas.

Qualifying Connecticut homeowners are eligible for certain complimentary HES services under the HES sponsored program. Homeowners are only required to contribute with the sponsoring utility by way of a small $75 co-pay.

Home Energy Audit

Comprehensive Climate Energy Services

Light Switch Coin BankAll homes are thoroughly tested to determine which energy-saving services are appropriate and offer the best return on investment for the individual home, as well as homeowner priorities. Home Energy Audits include an audio-visual inspection, plus extensive diagnostic testing to determine existing conditions in the home and how the house functions as an interactive system. From the initial testing, we provide you with a detailed analysis and report to educate you on the opportunities and priorities to improve specific areas.

Qualifying homeowners receive the following CES services:

  • Infiltrometer Blower Door testing to evaluate how your house leaks energy through your walls, floors, and ceilings
  • TrueFlow Diagnostic Airflow testing of central air conditioning system blower to determine total CFM versus required airflow for proper system operations
  • Duct Blaster duct testing of your central heating/cooling duct systems to calculate the amount of conditioned airflow leakage that is wasted.
  • Performance-based envelope air sealing & weatherization to seal leaks that are wasted energy and potentially contributing to hidden comfort issues
  • Professional duct sealing of your HVAC ductwork to reduce airflow leakage and help ensure proper delivery to the conditioned areas
  • Installation of energy saving compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL’s) throughout hi-traffic areas in the home such as kitchen, living room, etc.
  • Installation of water-conservation showerheads, aerators, etc. to reduce waste
  • Hot water tank and hot water pipe insulation to reduce energy losses, as well as tank temperature turndown evaluation
  • Review and education of certain rebate opportunities for the replacement of existing appliances with EnergyStar® appliances (refrigerators, dishwashers, clothes washers, dehumidifiers, etc. - depending on program)
  • Review and education of rebate opportunities for the replacement of existing heat pump and central air conditioning systems
  • Review and education of rebate opportunities for insulation upgrades to attic, walls, and floors
  • Review and education of rebate opportunities for the installation of high-efficiency gas-fired water heaters

A professional Climate Partners home energy saving expert will review all of their results with the homeowner through a very interactive hands-on process so that you will truly understand better how your home works from an energy, comfort, and safety perspective so you can make an informed, educated decision about how to reduce your utility costs. Additionally, all participating homeowners will receive an HES “toolkit” including our summary of your results, plus information on additional incentive programs available through their electric utility for increased energy savings.

Appointments are set up at your convenience Monday-Saturday between 8am-5pm. The work typically involves between ½ day to a full day, depending on the size and complexity of the home, number of HVAC systems, etc. Call today to learn more.
